New Aerosmith Single
Not feeling this at all. (Despite the lifted Led Zep riff.)

Re: New Aerosmith Single
I guess I don't mind it, but that weird intro, and bridge turns me off to it. I get that not every second of a song can be good, but what's up with the weird synth?

Re: New Aerosmith Single
Guy on the radio summed it up best (IMO), it's a blend of what they did in the 70's and what they did in the 80's. That's what it sounds like to me, a 70's chorus with some melodic 80's verses.
I like the song, maybe it's not their best song ever - but it's still pretty cool. |

Re: New Aerosmith Single
pretty non inspirational--
They haven't made anything new that has turned me on for a while now--its sad, as they can still bring it live---they have just lost the ability to craft a really good song-imo

Re: New Aerosmith Single
+1 I'm not the biggest Areosmith fan, but I think this is a strong single. I kind of like it.

Re: New Aerosmith Single
bought their first album spring of 73. haven't bothered since. Tyler's burger king commercials would have killed any residual interest, and did far beyond this tunes ability to resurrect.
Didn't even make it past the guitar solo. |

Re: New Aerosmith Single
I wonder if some people, not in this thread necessarily, would like the song more if Tyler wasn't on American Idol, and if he wasn't in commercials and overall relevant.
Just a thought, but I think that has something to do with it for some people. I know plenty of people have gotten on his case for that, I wonder if they're allowing that to cloud their judgement, and they're not judging the song as is. |

Re: New Aerosmith Single
I like it! My favorite album of theirs and their best album is "Toys In The Attic". But I really like this one.
Plus Joe Perry is one of my faves. Love his style of playing guitar. No technical BS - just blues based rock.

Not a commercial record; but from a musician's standpoint, a rockin' one, none the less. I'd vote Done With Mirrors is their most underrated record in their catalogue. |

Re: New Aerosmith Single
I don't like it. I really dislike the guitar tone that opens it, and it's pretty uninspiring.
Did I mention that I dislike that warbly synth-toned guitar? Because I can't stand it. |

Re: New Aerosmith Single
As a long time Aerosmith fan, all I got to say is WTF??? They need to look at what they did prior to "Draw the Line" thats the Aerosmith I dig

Re: New Aerosmith Single
Meh...I look at it this way...
This is a band that hasn't recorded any original material in what...10 years now? And prior to that, most of their stuff was being written by third parties. I'm not expecting instant "of the ages" rock songs. I just sort of weighed it against other stuff that's come out recently. It's not bad...
