Re: Wachovia is no more......
I'm not voting for Barrack so that his role in ACORN wouldn't sway me....
However from the WSJ: "Acorn officials bill themselves as nonpartisan community organizers merely interested in giving a voice to minorities and the poor. In reality, Acorn is a union-backed, multimillion-dollar outfit that uses intimidation and other tactics to push for higher minimum wage mandates and to trash Wal-Mart and other non-union companies." I might like these guys after all.... ![]()

Re: Wachovia is no more......
Here's an un-PC description of ACORN:
An organization that has played the race card for years in order to lobby money into their corrupt organization. In fact, you know that bailout bill that failed on Monday? It had an earmark for $100m+ to go to ACORN (and La Raza). These were removed and replaced with more earmarks in the current version. |

Re: Wachovia is no more......
None of this means shit to the Left.
With all the media bullshit, it takes them about three steps to pin it all on Dubya. Don't concern yourself with facts like Barney (openly gay congressman) Frank PERSONALLY cost taxpayers millions of dollars by talking up Fannie & Freddie just ahead of the collapse, inviting more investors to a sinking ship. O'Reilley - prick that he is - was dead right on his show. Barney Frank should have Fannie and Freddie shoved up his ass like a big stiff one. That piece of shit was running a prostitution ring out of his home while in congress, and when it came out he blamed on his boyfriend. Yep, poor Barney lost in love so we have to be nice to him.... Because he's gay, his lover is exempt from scrutiny and we all have to be nice to him. If Laura Bush, Lynn Cheney, Cindy McCain or Todd Palin was pulling shit lke Barney Frank has in his YEARS in congress, the world would end today. Massa-two-shits keeps electing Kennedy's Kerry and good old Barney Frank to the detriment of the entire nation. I never voted for ANY of these idiots, but I keep taking it up the ass because of them. Only Barney LIKES that shit. Nobody that did anything wrong here will pay, the Republicans will get all the blame though a Democrat will destroy every business they touch, and the Big Time CEO's will skate just like most of them did from Enron. This nation needs an enema, then maybe their vision will clear enough to see what the fxck actually happened. |

The forum would be a better place without all the stupid swears you guys use. Just a thought. Yeah I'm into censorship, SELF censorship, or Personal responsibility. That is the responsibility to Elevate the lowbrow finger pointing and ranting above the din of swears and accusations. Note, yes, Barney Frank is far from exempt or perfect. Very true. Lots worse out there too.

I'm not a gay-basher or a homo-phobe, I don't care what you do in your house. BUT.... He'll be exempt because he's so pathetic when he's on the defensive. O'Reilley made him look like a puppy being beat with a fireplace poker. ALL the sympathy will pour out for poor old Barney.... The man is NOT that stupid and he's NOT that helpless! He was elected over and over by people who seemed to think he was more qualified for the job than ANYBODY ELSE and this displays the very guilt that is played upon by society and the whole Politically Correct train running off the cliff. If you didn't vote to re-elect Barney, you obviously hate gays, eh? If you don't elect Obama or Hillary, you hate women and blacks, eh? Newsflash... I'd sell everything I own and go to work gratis on a campaign to put Condoleezza Rice in the White House. Betcha didn't see that one coming.... Quote:

Re: Wachovia is no more......
In my opinion you can pull politics right out of this issue. It was meritless greed up and down desired by people poor and rich and therefore supported by the self-serving body of crooks known as congress and the hapless ringleader we call president (regardless of who's serving).
Yeah the wall street guys deserve to be treated like traitors in my book. But what about the bozo's, and everybody surely knows some, who took out stupid mortgages just to buy houses they couldn't afford and then home-equity loaned their way to big tv's etc. It had to come crashing down. There was a time, only a few years ago but maybe now passed, when even the lowliest secretary was not interested in a house unless it had a garden tub in it. Yep, it was garden tubs and granite countertops for the women and bonus rooms and plasma tv's for the guys. Certainly we had our run of it here in NC, which is a fairly conservative state as far as real-estate goes. Low or no documentation loans for real estate?? Fraud everywhere. But people ran away from banks with traditional lending requirements into the waiting arms of those who would tell them their dreams would come true. Everyone was special! And it was liberals and it was conservatives doing it. White, black and every color in between. Straight, gay and "just experimenting" all were in on it. So now the government will pay our way out of it. Ok. Right. Years ago we mortgaged away the future to have fun in the present. Now the future is here. Oops! I'm sorry this will hurt people, but I cannot imagine any government policy that could make the economy grow when we have defied gravity for so long, living life above our means. What goes up, especially when full of hot air, must come down. |

Re: Wachovia is no more......
I ain't lumping them all together.
No sir. Barney Frank for starters should be prosecuted, with a long line behind him. A GOP man myself, I cannot absolve the Republicans of any wrong-doing. The Democrats are too stupid/selfish to care about complicated big picture stuff, while the Republicans who KNEW did little but sound the alarm and then walk away. Shit-heads on BOTH sides of the aisle, but those with their hands ALL OVER IT should swing from a rope..... Quote:
With the money we make, it's a shame we don't have all the toys our friends and co-workers have. We live in a nice solid home that we paid a good price for. Both of our trucks have over 100,000 miles on them but they're in great shape. They will be in the garage for years to come. I paid cash for every guitar and gun I own. My 26" color TV is 22 years old. My computer was free from work. All my clothes come from Wal Mart, my wife buys much of hers at Goodwill. I have no fancy electronic gadgets beyond my Ipod I got as a gift. We live comfortably with no flash or glitz in our lives. Quote:

Above that, what is galling is that you (and many others) will pay for those toys others bought and the commissions paid on wall street. We will. In one way or another we will. Higher taxes, higher debt load, loss of jobs, in some way we'll pay. It's too depressing for me to write about.

. They work for US. They should fear we can take it all away from them! But they keep us in fear and at each other's throats instead.Like that self serving Jerk, Lieberman. He had the gall to call the office he holds, "his seat" when voters were trying to usurp him. He said it with incredulous aloofness. It is not "his seat", it is ours. He is there at our pleasure. They work for us. But we can all see now, they really don't know that. Condi, nah. Just another lying water carrier. She goes to Europe, lying through her teeth that we have no secret prisons over there, then a few months later says we do ( But much less bravado, in a much smaller way ). I want our country NOT to be filling its posts with folks who have to lie. Truth and transparency are very important to me in holding ourselves accountable to a reasonably high standard.. If we are to lead, it should be by example. Our leadership today doesw, but I fear the example it gives more than half the time is one of a Machiavellian road. No Condi for anything. She should write memoirs with Albright. ![]() I'd take Ron Paul over anyone, but of course, his brand of leadership can never go far up the ladder in this divided land.

Re: Wachovia is no more......
Albright?
No way in hell you can compare the two. Quote:
I lived in Brazoria County Texas for 15 years, I'm VERY familiar with Ron Paul. He was nutty as a shit-house rat twenty years ago, but in Texas he was more of a curiosity than anything. When he hit the national stage a couple years ago, I spent a couple hours talking to some guys who spent their own money to put a booth in at a gun show. They were spreading the word to get him on the national ballot, one state at a time. I went back to his positions for a closer look. No thanks. When the "Cult of Truthers" rallied around him and elevated him to Grand Wizard or whatever, he started to come unglued. Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT a McCain fan, but I stopped saying I'm more Libertarian than Republican. Too much ridicule and venom by the people who REALLY don't get it. |
