Somewhere a crab is crawling in and out of his eye socket next to a hole made by American lead and I couldn't be happier about it. The Freedom Tower is now the highest point in NYC and a year away from being 1776 feet above the ground. maybe still a little too soon. Hitler killed more direct family, but OBL effected my life far more. Maybe that's why I'm happier about it. I don't know. I'm just more personally invested.

Anyways, it's good the man has been captured, but at the same time, there's no reason to turn it into some national celebratory event. We've killed plenty more civilians in retaliation than he ever did. I think that's "payback" enough with out needing to celebrate it all the time.

The killing of civilians, although never a good thing, I understand is often unavoidable. I'm just filled with joy HE'S dead. Today marks that. It brings some kind of closure to me, that's all. Maybe not closure, maybe just a little balance and sense to the world. I don't know.

I hope the SEAL Team dropped a bottle of Pepto Bismol with the body, I am sure the crabs would be appreciative. I don't think a goat/camel molestor is very palatable

OBL died in Tora Bora in 2001. And there is still no proof that he had anything to do with 9/11. I'm not trying to defend the guy, but if the truth was known it would not be OBL who your ire should be directed towards, the true criminals are still free and in control.

no, but one thing I've learned in 38 years is nowhere is immune to man made disaster and evil. Small towns like Columbine can have big problems, really quick. Stay alert. Not paranoid, just alert.

I know what you mean about it being personal, being from Oklahoma City (even if our bombing was home grown). You celebrate however you want. One fact that we can't ignore is that one year ago today, the world became a better and safer place.

I saw firetrucks and police cars from damn near every state as far as Oregon. The amount of help was so great UMOS had to be turned away from the disaster because there was simply nowhere for them to work and nothing they could do. The country really pulled together, there's no denying that and for this, I'm eternally grateful.
