OMAHA, Neb. — A former teacher who fled to Mexico with a 13-year-old student with whom she was having a sexual relationship was sentenced Monday to six years in federal prison.

Kelsey Peterson, 26, had pleaded guilty in July to a charge of transporting a minor across state lines to have sex and avoided a similar charge that would have carried a mandatory 10-year minimum sentence.
She will be credited for time served but will not be eligible for parole.

The guilty plea does not mean Peterson is off the hook on Nebraska state charges, which include kidnapping and first-degree sexual assault. Her attorney said he hoped those charges will be dropped.
Peterson and her relatives cried as they waved to each other across the courtroom and said, "I love you" after the hearing.

She started having sex with the boy when he was 12 years old and a student at the middle school where she taught in the south-central Nebraska town of Lexington.
Peterson's attorney, James Martin Davis, had publicly questioned the boy's birth certificate. Davis said the boy was likely at least 16, and that he was the aggressor.
Amy Peck, attorney for the boy and his family, bristled at the suggestion.
"He was a 12-year-old boy and the defendant knew it," Peck said in July, after Peterson's guilty plea.

Peterson was the boy's math teacher at Lexington Middle School during the 2005-06 school year, then started having sex with him in November 2006, according to court documents.
She and the boy disappeared in October, soon after the school district's superintendent confronted Peterson about allegations of an inappropriate relationship with the boy.
Peterson was arrested a week later in Mexico after the boy called his family.
The Associated Press previously named the boy as police were searching for him but stopped using his name after authorities charged Peterson with a sex crime.

The boy was an illegal immigrant at the time but has been granted humanitarian parole by the Department of Homeland Security.
Peck has said she plans to seek a visa that could put the boy and his parents on the path to citizenship.

The boys PARENTS should be in jail in the United States, or deported to Mexico!
There already is a "Path to Citizenship" in the US, it's just that Mexicans feel no need to use it!

I know I mentioned this before but they were just so STUPID I have to menton it again.

It was a warm summer night August 2005 and I was out that evening. I stopped at a local gas station for a fill-up. Here you have to pay before you pump if your using cash and it was after 11pm so you have to walk up to the window and pay the cashier behind the bullet proof glass.

While I was pumping my gas a car full of idiots pulls up. They came flying into the station so fast their car was litterally on two wheels! I'm thinking great look at these nuts!

They were seriously intoxicated and pulled up to the pump on the other side of the pumping island from me.

As I was putting my gas cap back on I hear "get his keys"! The next thing I know I getting whacked in the head with what turned out to be a 9 iron (golf club) and a half full bottle of tequila, the third guy was just swinging his fists at me!

I'm running around my car with all three of them chasing after me! I mean hell if it was one other person I'd stand my ground and go toe-to-toe but I didn't have a prayer with three of them on me! The gas station attendant safely behind the glass was watching the "show" unfold... you would think they might help? Ha yeah right!

Luckily I was carrying my .40 cal semi with me (licensed to carry concealed weapons) so I pulled it!

The look on the faces of these three idiots was priceless!! They knew if they didn't drop their weapons and get on their knees their only other option would have been death!! Doing the smart thing was the right choice for these three morons. So I had them on their knees, hands on top of their heads and told them if one of them moved they would all die! They stayed put with that big ol 40 staring them right in the face!

Since I received no help from the gas station attendant I call 911 myself with my free hand while I held the three idiots at gun point with my other hand waiting for the police to arrive.

A couple months later two of them received 5 years in prison and the third 10 years due to previous brushes with the law.

This just goes to show you, if your dumb enough to try and take someone elses shit that they WORKED hard for then your to dumb to realize some of US carry guns legally and will use them!

Caught a stupid criminal this morning.

One of my ex-employees broke into one of my businesses
last night and stole our safe.

As he was fleeing, a policeman noticed the man speeding
away with my safe on his lap while RIDING HIS MOTORCYCLE!

He crashed, got arrested and I got my EMPTY safe back.
