Audio software for Mac Os system

Hi:

I just bought a Zoom H2 handy recorder to record my guitar sessions at home when I'm jamming with friends.

Now I need some recommendations of the gurus of MLP community.

I need an audio program for my Mac (last version of leopard) just to take the wav or mp3 files and normalize and cut the sections that I will store one my computer and through away the other staff.

I'm looking for a free nice program, or at least a licensed one but not to much expensive.

Thanks everybody for the help
Felip

Logic... It's the only way to do anything with very high quality, and ease of use.

The H2 is GREAT. I absolutely love mine.

You can download a trial and see if it works for you, or go the illegal download route if you think it is too expensive. It's worth every penny they are asking, and that's rare for software these days.

Re: Audio software for Mac Os system

Reaper has a Mac version. It's cheap and easy to use and if you used the PC version the files are all compatible. I just got a Mac myself and am about to try out Garage Band. A few guys I know on tour use it and love it.

Re: Audio software for Mac Os system

Garageband is beautiful in it's simplicity. I've recorded a bunch of tracks using it and the quality is great for a free piece of software.

Does Audacity do a Mac thing too? I use that on my Ubuntu systems, but I've got Logic Pro on my Mac and it's incredible what you can do with it.

Re: Audio software for Mac Os system

I teach Garageband and Logic for a living so I would say that they are both great. Personally I love Garageband.

Also try Reaper by Cockos and also Ardour. Both are free and very very good.

If you want a two track audio editor try Audacity and for Audio Unit fx and synths (bolt on extras that work with Mac) get in touch and I will send you a list of all the free legal stuff out there, so you can experiment some once you get into it.

If you live anywhere near an Apple Store then go buy a One to One membership for only 99 dollars / £79.00 and you get a years training in how to use Garageband and Logic, as well as all Apple software. Bargain mate!

If anyone needs help with Mac and audio recording feel free to contact me as that's what I do practically all day every day. So I live in studios and teach it a lot.

Since you guys are all so cool and helpful I don't mind returning the favour.

Re: Audio software for Mac Os system

If you have Quicktime Pro, you can export it as WAV, and use iTunes to convert it to MP3.

Hope this helps.
