First Practice
So a few weeks ago I was talking to the lead guitar player for my Church and he asked if I was interested in playing. I've never been in a band and other than jamming with friends when I was a kid I've never played with other people before. I was excited but nervous, I'm not very good, but tonight I went to my first practice and It was awesome.
I've never had that much fun playing guitar, and I realized that I'm not as bad as I thought. I learned 2 of the 4 songs we're playing since Sunday, another one I learned tonight at practice and there's one that I have no idea what's going on but for the first time I'm excited about learning a song because I need to, not just because I'm bored. I really don't know why I feel the need to start a thread about it but I'm just excited, granted I'm not playing The Beacon or anything just at Church, but my wife's asleep and I wanted to tell somebody.

Re: First Practice
I absolutely love playing in church. I'm trying to convince them that an electric would add a whole new demention and that leads do not have to elaborate and in every song. Glad you are enjoying it.

Re: First Practice
thanks guys.
With me there'll be two electrics and a 12 string acoustic, a bass, drums and keyboards. They usually sound pretty good, I'm hoping I don't screw that up. Everyone said I sounded really good so I'm pretty happy with that.

Re: First Practice
You won't screw it up. Relax and enjoy. There is great joy in making music with others.
