Well, I was petting my ex's cat a few weeks back, normally a loving cat, and the little bitch up and clawed me -- and tried to bite me -- out of nowhere.

There's certainly been times where a dog had me afraid, including once when I had to interpose myself between an aggressive pit-bull-looking dog and my (then) year-old son in his stroller.

But I've found that if I offer the backside of my hand to a dog for sniffing and cataloging, he's most of the time tolerant of my presence even if not happy.

I love my kitteh, but he doesn't get along with other animals. I tried a second kitteh, but the first one kept hissing and they never got along. He chases other kittehs in the area, and I don't want to risk bringing a dog in just yet. He's the sweetest kitteh with people though. Within a minute of meeting you he'll jump on your lap, headbutt your chest so you pet him, and then he falls asleep. He's a Maine Coon, about 10 years old now.

Admittedly typical cat behavior, I'd never claim otherwise. They're not dogs.

That guy is an idiot. If he yells at his animals to the point of neighbors complaining, then he doesn't deserve to have any animals.

As far as cats being serial killers. I've had both dogs and cats and I love both equally, but I don't think I've ever seen a news report of a domestic cat mauling anyone to death. And when dogs do that, I place the blaim on crappy owners.

As far as hating an entire group of animals. I love animals too much and I've got far too much hate saved up for my fellow man to have any left over for animals.

Very territorial breed. It took 3 months for Jinxi to begin to accept a rescue kitten we had brought in. Very much people cats. Mine walks a perimeter to keep our property clear of other animals. Does not play well with others.

Mine does the same! He'll sit on the porch and just watch... if another cat shows in the distance he might look up at me and meow and then he takes off like the Flash. If it's a big dog he'll just sit there and stare.. then maybe 30 seconds later he'll headbutt my leg and meow to let him in the house again.

Another thing with them, I was talking to River about this too as he has one.... does your cat paw at the ground or edge of the water bowl for a while before drinking? Kind of like he's digging a waterhole.

I haven't noticed tbh. His water bowl is next to the dry food but never noticed anything odd. The only thing that annoys me is he likes to scratch our new couches..despite the scratching pad w/ catnip.
