Daniel, you're right. Lots of personality.
I went to your blog and looked at all the head shots.

As it is often said, she loves the camera
and you were good enough to catch it all.

She must of been comfortable in your studio and with you.
I know that can be a big block to get past for some people.

Nice work.

You know, I didn't. I rarely do when I'm shooting film. Digital, all the time (so easy with those auto-bracket settings), but not with film. In truth I never dreamed this would work--figured it would be soft--so I wasn't very deliberate about it. It exposed at a 1/10th...pretty slow for hand held. Pure luck.

I picked all of those shots almost at random... I have 100+ more frames and not a one of them quite the same at all... I swear I'm going to call her back and do a re shoot.

She is a 100% natural in front of the lens (aside from acting she Is the girl that the Blond "Moxie Doll" was derived from) ... There is just so damn much depth to her.

People don't understand how much a truly steady camera
improves the clarity of a photograph.

Camera shake, as you know, sometimes looks like blurriness to people. So they think something is wrong with their camera and or lens.

I still carry a small tripod, when mounted on the camera, allows me hold the rig against my chest for those kinds of shots.

So true. Now with these higher MP cameras and so many people pixel peeping, well, the amount of truly technically deficient photos has skyrocketed. Yes there is more to an image than technical proficiency and blurry photos have their place, but now they are the norm thanks to what passes for photography for many on their cellphones and high noise/high MP Point & Shoot pocket cameras.

At the other end of the spectrum Medium format high MP cameras need a great amount of steadiness as well. Just no getting away from it, a steady platform is one of the greatest photo enhancements available.

Harpo, 'wow' on the Boston shot. Lovely.
I still prefer B&W but occasionally a color shot just...wows me.

Re: PHOTOGRAPHERS! Post em up

I got some of my best shots on a fast 50mm lens.
It was a 1.2.
Loved that stock Canon lens.

Forced me to make different decisions when only packing one lens.
The eye looks at your surroundings differently.

Nice shots in this thread for sure. It's interesting how many shots we all take now that we are all virtually armed with an imaging device at all times.

Thanks. I like to work in B&W and color. Sometime I like creating other worlds since ours often needs improvement.

WE WERE IN THE BOat business from 1929-1970. A lot of good times I remember. A lot of our family photos look like this: 1947 Grand father's tour boat:

Life jackets? we don't need no stinkin' life jackets!

I'm actually hoping to hold out for a t2i for the added video capability. Though if the t4i is a large enough improvement over the t3i it might be worth the extra wait.

All these airplane shots are awesome. A friend of mine works for Northrop Grumman, and I will never forgive myself for not calling in sick when he offered to let me check out a fighter jet that was at a local airport. It was a small press thing I think, but he said he cold get me right up to it.
