Re: Nascar club

....hmmm, got to many to list, but how about a highlight for those who have never been...

Even if you arent a fan, going to see the big boys run will be one of the most fun things you have ever done.

The colors of the cars, the sound when they fire up the engines, the crowd, its a great time for everyone.

Re: Nascar club

Someone should start up a group on Yahoo racing and we can compete for bragging rights.

I belong to one on another forum and it is great fun. I won the group handily in 2010 but last year just wasn't consistent enough. Another person won in 2009 and 2011 so hopefully the trend will continue and I will add 2012 to my 2010 championship.

Re: Nascar club

I belong to the espn fantasy racing thing they do. It is fun.

Also I've been to the past 2 Dayton 500's. I won't be able to make it this year though because my fiance cant miss any school and since they moved the race back 1 week we dont have monday off after the race to drive home.

I have to second what HACK said though. My fiance hates watching it on tv but she will go to any race. Its a totally different experience. And if you ever get to go to Daytona spend the extra money for the infield passes...awesome experience!!!!!!

Nascar isn't a real sport. It's like golf. If I wanted to watch cars drive, I'd go sit next to the highway.

That too. What's the deal with that? At least rally races change direction once and a while.

Re: Nascar club

If I was to set up a fantasy group on Yahoo Sports how many people here would be interested in participating? Or should we start a new thread to see how many might be interested? The picks for the first race have to be in within a week so we'd have to jump on this and get it started if we are going to do it.

Let's see, I've been to Daytona more times than I can remember, Atlanta, and Talladega. So glad there's something to watch on weekends again. Hopefully Carl can break up the dominance of the evil empire.

Troll.
This thread is quite obviously for fans.
So why come in and post here except to start sh*t?

If you want to debate whether it's a sport or not then go start your own thread.

Been to Charlotte several times and seen many drivers up close.
Chatted with old timers at the Racers Reunion here in Columbia twice.
Dave Marcus has a lot of cool stories to tell!

And I wasn't a fan of his when he was racing either.

You did what?? Pics or it didn't happen. Oh and Micheal is a big guy and it almost cost issues seating him in the car at the 24 Hours of Daytona this year.

I don't mind races. Just not nascar. I'll watch the odd rally race if it's on TV, but nascar is just too monotonous. I respect the amount of strategy involved, but I still reject it as a sport. The primary factor in a sport is physicality, which is not the primary factor in auto racing.

Re: Nascar club

Been to Pocono, Dover, Watkins Glen and Loudon. Race fans are the greatest people! The Monster Mile is my favorite track. Road courses should be watched on TV, can see more action, they go by and it takes a while to see them again.

Told my story in another NASCAR thread. In a nutshell my nephew got $100 cash returned to him that he lost at Dover by the souvenir trailers. Don't know of any other 'SPORTING' event that would ever happen. Have Pocono on my list for June and July this year. Possible Dover trip again too... Go Danica! Hoping to see my boy Jeff Burton in Victory lane as well. Love the CAT car!

Being able to stay in a hot car for hours is not a sport, otherwise just living in the desert would be a sport.
