That absolutely sucks man. I lost one of my pack last week to Kidney failure. There is a pic of him here.. We are down to 4 cats now. I loved 5..

I always grew up with outdoor cats.. I know that my 4 remaining cats would love nothing more than to run the neighborhood. Especially Vernie. I could see him as the neighborhood heavy. NO Doubts.

Vernie is the one on the left. The one in the middle is Lily, a be-atch from hell. But the sweetest thing at the same time.
Otis on the right showed up here.. He was WILD.. We know his father.. His father lost his tail..

Anyhow.. Just wanted to say. I know it feels great to let them out.. But. I will never ever let any of my cats out. Too many nasty diseases and too many idiot drivers.

But. we walk our cats and they love it. Especially at night. Their predator drive is through the roof at night. Walking in the day can be sketchy. Too much going on.

Ultimately, I am really sorry for your loss man. It sucks. I cried lots. I love them all to death.

The good memories will flood back soon. Regards

What a fine trio. The one on the right looks deep in thought while Lily looks like she's plotting something.

Thanks bro.

Yup. That's Otis on the right.. He was wild.. so he still has a nervousness. He slinks a lot still. Well. Not a lot.. He is getting better. When he and I go for walks.. He shows soooo much emotion. he loves it.

lol... Lilly plots always. She does not mean it.. If that makes any sense.
She just snaps. She is so sweet.. But. if she were to see a cat outside there she would attack both Vernie and Otis on the spot. If I tried to intervene she would hiss at me and maybe even swipe.

Then I snap... Vocally only,,, obviously. She knows when I am entaged.. she still don't care. She will take swipes at me as she runs away.

That said, Vernie dominates her. they are all fixed but otis.. He will be going soon..

But Vernie still likes to pin her down and bite her neck.. She knows he is dominant next to me.. His papa..Well and Mama too.

She is just nuts.

So sorry to hear about your loss schaapie, I lost my first dog when he got off his chain and was ran over... it's heartbreaking, I still get a little worked up over it when I think of it and that's over 15 years ago now. I wish you all the best.

Likewise.

I was gone for a week, and half-way through I had a horrible nightmare about my cats that I don't even want to re-tell. It didn't ruin the vacation, but man was I glad to get home and find them all safe and sound. The two younguns greeted me like abandoned puppies. The older sisters waited a couple of hours, for effect.

I love getting away from the house for a few days, but it is usually only hours before Kitty Separation Syndrome sinks in.

The return dismissive, turned away heads and cold ambivalence for an hour may be an act, but I don't like the guilt trip much, when I missed them too.

Skittens came running right up to me with her inimitable "meh, meh, meh!" (she doesn't "meow"), got on my shoulder and wouldn't leave - all night, really. Daphne reaffirmed her nicknames, "Squeaky Toy" and "Pigeon Breath".

We go to Canada a few times a year. The cats are all I think about. Drives me nuts. We call down and either my mother-in-law or other family watch them, but I never believe them when they say everyone is alright. They wouldn't tell me anyway until after the drive back. Trying to keep the reins tight on seven induvidual personalities is hard....losing one is causes impossible pain. Sorry to all who has lost a beloved pet. It never gets easier.
