Saw Brad Paisley last night...lotsa pics...
Hey all--had a wonderful time at the concert thanks to our own Sea Pull (Joe).
He met my wife and I, and gave us a great backstage tour. It was amazing seeing so many guitars backstage (4 acts). I didn't get to take any backstage pics; in all honesty stuff was so packed together it would've been hard to see anything. Joe's video terminal was pretty darn cool; multiple cameras, and they controlled the incredible video on the stage. I think it's the best light/video show I've ever seen at a concert. Incredible stuff. I'm not a big country music fan, so I didn't really know much of the music. I'd heard a few of Jewel's tunes, and knew a couple of Brad's. Even so--VERY entertaining show! I'll post some pics of the guitars in the opening acts, but will start with Brad. Out seats were great; 17 rows from the stage, and about 5 seats away from the end of the stage runway. I got some pretty good shots. ![]() Here he's jamming with his rhythm player...note the fake super-huge Morley-looking wahs...very neat. They traded licks back and forth. I was also digging the Ibanez V. ![]() ![]() ![]() Here you can see how close we were... ![]() More to come! BB

Jewel's guitar player. Great sounding SG/Les Paul.

The opening act, her last name is Hough. She was on Dancing With the Stars or something. Good singer, great band. They didn't interact much, though.
![]() ![]() Jewel looked great, and played well. She just got married last weekend, it turns out. ![]() Good players in her band as well. Correction--these guys played with Chuck Wicks, and other up-and-coming act. ![]() BB

Man, that looks like good times. I saw Jewel at Nashville Star (my best bud is the producer). She blew us away.. I really never realized what she can make her voice do, it was all over the charts.

Re: Saw Brad Paisley last night...lotsa pics...
I thought the same. The sound man must have been going crazy trying to mix her. Whisper quiet, the loud as heck.
Very impressive range. BB

Re: Saw Brad Paisley last night...lotsa pics...
His name is Ryan Wariner, his father is Steve Wariner, who is quite well known as an ace player in country music. Ryan's got a cool side project going that sounds like a mash of Zep, Aerosmith, the Stones and the Black Crows, I'll try to get a link...
(UPDATE) Got his myspace page it's myspace/sweeteasternsaint He said he played nothing but LP's on the album. Check it out.. Quote:
Glad you had a good time man, we'll hook up again on my next time around...

![]() BB ![]() Hey Joe--I saw your pic on Brad's last song...as they were showing the backstage crew Dana and I both cheered when we saw you on the big screen.

Is it just me or has the Stratocaster totally gone extinct from the modern live music scene? Great pics BB. Thanks for sharing!

I got the DVD of the Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007 and wondered just the opposite - only a few not playing Strats. This Amazon link has a short video clip in it and you can see what I'm talking about. The DVD is very good - Lots of different players and styles of music - but mostly blues, blues/rock. Re: Saw Brad Paisley last night...lotsa pics...
Country music out here.. it's all Tele's and LP's. There are a couple of Strats out here but you only see them on the occasional song.

I ruptured the distal tendon on my right bicep...muscle popped right off the bone.
I was helping a neighbor load a 300lb TV set...seems no good deed goes unpunished. ![]() I should have the brace for about 2 more weeks. I had it surgically repaired about 7 weeks ago. BB

Nice pictures! I'm not a huge country fan, but I really enjoy Paisley's playing!
It would be cool if he rocked out a little more!

Re: Saw Brad Paisley last night...lotsa pics...
New Album comes out in Nov. It's almost all instrumentals and he explores many styles new to him including blues, surf and rock. B.B. King is doing a song on it as well....

BB I was going to ask you about your sudden avatar change a little bit ago, and then I happened upon this thread. Sounds and looks like it was EXCELLENT!
The last time I saw Brad I was significantly farther back (read: in the nose bleeds). Great pics! |

Re: Saw Brad Paisley last night...lotsa pics...
Thanks. Ya, it was a great show. I can't wait to hear Brad's exploration of other styles.
He played some bluesy stuff at the show, jamming with (on video) BB King. I love the way BB embraces guitar players from other styles. Thanks again, Joe! BB
