hobbies and other interests anyone???

was wondering if you guys/girls have any other hobbies or interests that as important or at least a close second to guitar playing. for me my true 2nd love is cooking. i find it as relaxing and rewarding as playing. actually i find it a little more rewarding since im a natural in the kitchen but still a bit clumsy on the fretboard.

Re: hobbies and other interests anyone???

I have salt water reef tanks... It drives the fish nuts when I crank up the amps though... Unlike freshwater fish, Salt water fish have very different personalities... When I come home from work, my wife tells me they here my truck and start swimming tor wards the front of the tanks looking for me to feed them, when I get in. I have a few puffers that actually beg for food and when I dont feed them they will spit water at me.. Pretty funny to watch...

I dabble with a bit of piano and am an avid LP collector.

I enjoy video games when I have time. I'd like to get back into building model cars. I used to be the type that wired and plumbed the engines, and all that crazy stuff.I used to draw and paint, but I stopped when I started playing guitar. Actually, everything stopped when I started playing guitar!

i used to do all the same (except paint) i still have a bunch of unbuilt models and half done drawings. i used to love using thread for wiring on my models, then they all got stacked in a box and squashed lmao.

Yep. I used thread too when I first started doing it. Then I moved up to very small rubber tubing you can get at the hobby shop. Along with bare metal foil for chrome. I was obsessed with detail.

I take my cat for walks. Yup, a cat. It must look pretty funny, especially when she sees a squirrel or something and I gotta grab her off the ground before her hissing scares children away :S

How do you train your cats? Mine gets pissed off when I put the leash on her and she sprawls out on the floor.

Re: hobbies and other interests anyone???

Aside from guitars, I have way too may hobbies that my very limited pockets can support. Lets see...um...there's the 6 foot long piranha tank, I once had a stable of vintage air cooled VW type 1s (aka as The Beetle) that I restored, I was just starting to dabble in the rather expensive world of European high performance cars before I lost my employment, used to have a Trek road racing bike that barely saw any use, I was into the SOCOM series of video games at one point, I have a paltry international coin collection, oh and i also cook - so check out my other thread on cooking! (sorry for the plug. i couldnt resist).

Re: hobbies and other interests anyone???

if it was not for music, I would be working on a Ph.D in Philosophy....it is the only area that have found comes close in creating as much interest and dedication in me as music....but still music is by far my greatest pursuit...I am not foolish enough to not also pursue a healthy enjoyment of jello, myself...

My other hobbies are Cars, Reffing Hockey and Airplanes.

I take flying lessons and I really enjoy that but not as much as guitars.
There's nothing that I enjoy more than playing guitar, the only things that come close are cars, reffing hockey and flying airplanes!

You are truly a venerable sort of guy, St. Bede. :-)

(Non-geeks: This is a joke, I swear. It makes sense to historians, theologians, and philosophers, honest!) :-)
