My parents warned me about lots of things, but they were always too late.

Not that I got in too much trouble. They just under estimated what was going on at the age(s) they decided to "sit me down".

I can't think of any quotes. I learned almost exclusively by watching them make mistakes. And of course by making my own.

Building my conscience is the biggest thing I can thank them for. However I can thank them for many, many things. That's the one that made the difference IMO.

That was my introduction to Irish logic by my one grandmother from the old sod. Her other contribution was to give me blue eyes for the Hispanic rest of me. I really F*** up a family photo.
