My son's first guitar...

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!

My 8 year old son got his first guitar for Christmas today and he's really enjoying it!
Inexpensive SG clone but for him there's nothing better. ;-)

If any of your kids have got an axe today please share here!!

haha... exactly my feeling. I never got any support in that area. That is why my wife and I wanted to bless him with a guitar and amp ( valve BTW, )when he told us how much he'd love to play it. I could not think of a better Christmas persent, really. I think we can really bond through music.

He is a mighty fan of Greg Martin like me and he loves -in his own words- "rocking guitars".

Re: My son's first guitar...

Congratulations to your son!!!
That's a gift your son will always remember.

27 years ago today my whole world changed....

My Grandparents got me my first guitar for Christmas all those years ago. Yes, I am left-handed, and I started out playing that way, but I switched to "righty" when I was about 12.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Very nice. I bought my 7 year old nephew a Gitano 3/4 acoustic for Christmas. A new kids guitar.$40.00. Smoke on the Water riff, priceless.

Re: My son's first guitar...

That's an awesome gift you got for your son, and one he'll probably always remember.

It's great when parents care enough to contribute to their children's musical desires. That's a gift that means a lot, and can go much further towards developing a lifelong love of music.

Merry Christmas!

Re: My son's first guitar...

I don't think I've mentioned that Leon, although with a good intelligence, has got a mild form of autism: Everyday life is not always that straight forward for him but music has always made a lot of sense, somehow.

As I said Greg Martin ( of the Mighty Jeremiahs, Rufus Huff, Kentucky Headhunters,... ) is his favourite guitar player and Greg has told me that he's going to be sending a few perks to go with the guitar. God bless his soul...

10/10 for such a player and human being as Greg Martin!!!

Man you got it, it's not so much the guitar but what that guitar will do for your son and for your relationship with him! Great you posted this!

I bet you a whole lot of years from now he will probably have his share of expensive ones, but that SG will always remain special to him, even if he parts with it later on.

Merry Christmas.
