Guns N Roses Reunion?

Since frontman of Velvet Revolver was fired on April, VR were planning to do a reality show to find a new frontman but recently VR said that they are going to make an announcement late this month.... and everyone will be shocked ???


Does this mean that Guns N Roses are reuniting??

No way will GNR get back together until when/if Chinese Democracy is ever released. It's taken Axl over 10 years and 10 million dollars to make that piece of shit. Getting back with his old band would prove that he's a total failure and his ego won't stand for that.

I can't see it happening, unless it turns into a debacle like the VH reunion. I think we all know why Chubby Mike didn't join the tour, and let Chubby Wolfie have it instead.

Anyway...

The idea I get from a couple of interviews of Slash is that he doesn't have a grudge against Axl or anything. In fact he said he loved him to death, but they are both really busy, and they were having trouble working together on a personal and musical level (both very strong personalities), and they haven't talked since he left Guns, not because they are refusing to do so, but because they just haven't. On Letterman he said that he was gonna go to a new guns show to check it out but security wouldn't let him through because there were rumors he was trying to sabotage. He also mentioned in his book that he doesn't like how the media kind of pits them against each other. His typical to response to the guns reunion question is, "Me and duff are busy with VR. Axl is busy with the New Guns. And Steven and Izzy are both content doing their own thing.

My guess is that the announcement is going to involve the new singer for Velvet Revolver and how they are gonna choose it or who it will be.

The rhetoric has softened considerably from the VR side of the fray.
It’s almost civil. It sounds to me like it’s all up to Axl.
I would love to hear some new GNR. It's been a long time.

He said that the band is coming up with something that will surprise everybody and that an announcement about their new singer will be released soon."

As obsessed as I am with GNR, I wouldn't want to see a reunion. I don't think any of them have that mystical quality anymore.

The very attitude that made them GNR in the first place is gone.

Yeah I have to agree and say that Axl is way to egostistical.
Slash does say they don't hate eachother. But Axl wants to do his own thing with the band that made him famous, and Slash doesnt want to be a sellout.

Guns N Roses is not around anymore
no matter what axl's "super group" goes by.
I dont see them as the same band at all.

You know... U2 is not one of my favourite bands, but they have some songs and a vibe I really dig... But to be honest I don't like Bono at all. He's a little too full of himself, and way to damn preachy.

The guy probably has enough money to feed the continent of Africa for a hundred years but he demands that governments in the 'civilized' world suck more lifeblood out of their middle classes to do it instead.

Simple fact of the matter is, he's a pop star. He's only famous because he sang some love songs and got on the radio, not for being a powerful and motivational world leader. If he gave away 95% of his total wealth, he'd probably still be richer than most of us and not look so much like a jerk when he's preaching about feeding the world.

Could Guns N' Roses Reunite?

GUNS N' ROSES' original line-up will reform to mark the 20th anniversary of the band's album APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION - but without lead singer AXL ROSE.

Drummer Stephen Adler claims the event will take place at Los Angeles' Key Club on 28 July - and include original members Slash, Izzy Stradlin and Duff McKagan.

The Key Club's website advertises performances by the drummer's band Adler's Appetite and LA Guns - the band that spawned Guns N' Roses.

Adler writes on the site, "I'll be down there with my band and Slash, Izzy (Stradlin, guitarist) and Duff (McKagan, bass) will be there too. It's gonna be great."

Although Rose is not expected - Adler insists a full reunion will eventually happen: "Axl and I spoke to each other in Las Vegas recently, and I know there's a chance. It's just too big.

"Whatever the Stones make when they play, we'd triple it. It'd be ridiculous not to do it. He can't be that goofy."

With all the rumors swirling about reunions and special performances in advance of the 2008 Rocklahoma line-up announcement, I couldn't help but wonder about Guns n' Roses.

Now, I know as well as everyone else that the original Guns n' Roses won't be reuniting anytime soon, let alone for Rocklahoma. My question is this: if the Guns n' Roses we all know and love was still together, would the band headline the Glam festival?

I'm not sure Axl Rose would go for Rocklahoma. In the band's hey day, Guns n' Roses played festivals in South America in front of about a 100,000 people. The stage shows were big, and according to Slash, somewhat overdone.

Can you imagine if Axl Rose came out of hiding tomorrow and decided to reconcile with Slash, Izzy Stradlin, and Duff McKagan? So many years removed from the Use Your Illusion records, I still believe music reporters would go nuts.

You'll notice I didn't name a drummer in the previous paragraph. I think that would be another sticking point: who would play skins in the reunited Guns n' Roses? Steven Adler made himself a Rocklahoma fixture last year. He's also the most seemingly interested in a reunion. We all know Matt Sorum replaced Adler after drugs got in the way of the music. While Sorum played on the records after Lies (save one song during the Use Your Illusions sessions), I think many fans would prefer to see Adler behind the kit. Of course, Sorum is the drummer for Velvet Revolver which also features Slash and Duff McKagan. That relationship could possibly deter an "all original" line-up reunion.

Here's the other thing. What if Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy, and Steven all reunited? Would they play Appetite for Destruction in its entirety, or would the band also dabble in songs from Lies and the Use Your Illusion records?

Of course, Axl's mood must always be considered. Would he run out on the Rocklahoma stage and act like he still has an album in the top spot of the Billboard charts, or would he somehow be humbled at the opportunity to perform again for the very fans who have sustained him - and his mansion - for all these years?

2008 could very well be the year of Chinese Democracy, but I don't think we'll ever see that album officially released. Most tracks have leaked on the Internet in one form or another. If Axl wanted the album out, we'd all have it on our iPods by now.
