Vermont

Taking the wiff to Vermont at the end of October. You're all jealous. I can tell.

I'm going to be within 10 miles of Vermont next week,I don't have a passport so I won't be setting foot into it though. I wanted to be able to say I was in New England dammit.

Good Eatin'

Montpelier has The New England Culinary Institute; always a few grads operating cafes in town.

Near Rutland is Countrymen's Pleasure. Nominally German, but they make whatever they want and all of it is great. Bring your wallet, expect to be deeply impressed.

Then there's Ben and Jerry's

Re: Vermont

Vermont is a great place to relax and breath some fresh air. Don't eat too much maple sugar candy or whatever the hell is it is.

Re: Vermont

I'll be way up in East Burke, VT this weekend raging it up with my old jeep club, ie. party buddies.

Whereabouts in VT are you gonna be and when in Oct.? If its early enough, you should see some great foliage.

Re: Vermont

Oct 28-31. Just the weekend really. I'm hoping that as warm as it's been this summer, it'll push the trees changing a little longer. We'll be in Stowe being tourists.

Re: Vermont

That time of year all the tourists will be starting to leave.
There may still be some color in the south.

Enjoy your time here, but stay away from the rednecks.
Some people here make Deliverance look like a kiddie show...

Re: Vermont

If you get the chance, drive to the top of Mt. Mansfield then hike a small distance to either peak (nose or chin is what they are called). The view is spectacular on a clear day.
Don't forget Ben & Jerry's and Cabot cheese.
A short distance down route 2 you will find a weekend craft fair/flea market that has some neat stuff.
There is a nice drive thru Smugglers notch on route 108.
Your wife will love the shops...
