Weird Swelling of the hands

This is a dumb question, so its fits perfectly in the backstage.

I recently bought a pretty nice leaf blower to clear grass clippings off of my driveway, sidewalks, and porch. It works pretty well; and it only takes around 15 min or so to clear all the grass and other random stuff off of said places.

Here is the problem, after using the blower for only about 15 min, and switching off hands every once in a while, when I am done, my hands swell up pretty badly. I can't even pull the ring off my finger, as my fingers look like Ball Park Franks, and my palms increase in size too. I tried wearing some gloves when using the blower, but it only helped a little.

Does anyone know why my hands swell when I use the damn blower? Am I allergic to it or something. I can't figure it out, and my Google search brought me crap.

Thanks for anyone who might have had a similar experience and might know how to help me.

Re: Weird Swelling of the hands

Maybe the vibration is making blood flow to your hands? Only thing I could think of other than an allergy.

I'm going to lean heavily on the vibration pulling the blood to your hands as well. Funny feeling, isn't it?

I have the same problem...that's why I get my wife to use the machine while I supervise....Problem solved.

Sounds like that's what I'm going to resort to...

Use gloves with 'gel' inserts in the palms.

I'd let my doctor decide that....

I'll have to look into getting some. Its strange how it happens with the leaf blower, but not the weed trimmer.

I also have an allergy to gardening, especially when the football is on tv.

Long term exposure to heavy vibration causes 'white finger' a common condition in ex coal miners, before Thatcher decided to crush them and import coal from over seas, where the miners worked in conditions akin to slavery...sorry I digress...

Re: Weird Swelling of the hands

My hands certainly tingle when using gas powered hand tools, but no swelling noted. Wish I knew.

Are you sure you're just not over-wanking?

Several other possible applications of this strange problem come to mind.
