If you were only deciding between these two which one would you pick & why? Assuming they both sound, look & weigh exactly the same or very very close or being equal to each other.
I've picked the two most expensive editions to try to find out what really separates them from the other Historics & why? Just what is it that makes them (almost twice) more $$'s compared to the others in the line? I fell in love with the R9 immediately but I like big necks. I've not played an R0 but people rave about them, mostly the neck size. Or do some feel that uncomfortable with a thicker neck? I've got huge hands & up until my R9 was nice & chunky. Then once I got a hold of an R6, I looked at the neck & thought, NO WAY! But I'll be damned if it's not the most comfortable guitar to play (for me) than any other Historic I've had the pleasure of playing or owning. What say you? RO or R9 & is the neck sizes or something else that draws you to a particular one that you're willing to pay so much more for these two in particular?

Re: High end Historics $$ R0 & R9 $$
I have smaller hands but liked the bigger neck. It just feels more substantial.

Re: High end Historics $$ R0 & R9 $$
I want one of each. I loves me some fat neck, but I'm an original "0" so the R0 would be my first choice.

Re: High end Historics $$ R0 & R9 $$
BOTH!
.......'cause the neck sizes vary so much there isn't much difference. I've had a R9 who's neck was a different shape but about the same size as my R0's neck.....I owned them at the same time and I used to A/B them.

Re: High end Historics $$ R0 & R9 $$
My R9's neck is perfect! So, the R9 gets my vote.
Usually, in times like these I post a picture of which one I voted for...but seeing as how both guitars are the same, it wouldn't do much good.

Re: High end Historics $$ R0 & R9 $$
I went for R0. Partly because I've got an R9. Partly because I'm a sucker for reflectors. Partly because they're quite a bit rarer. (Occasionally gets noticed at a gig that I'm playing a Hysteric, wouldn't it be a blast "Wow, is that a '59 reissue?" "Nope, try again...")

Re: High end Historics $$ R0 & R9 $$
I picked an R0 only because my R0 is a little better sounding and playing than my R9. Otherwise it would be a toss up.

Re: High end Historics $$ R0 & R9 $$
R9... for the neck. The fatter the better.
I don't like the skinny ones.... and yes, I have seen R9s that were too thin for me. It's just that "in general", the R0s are gonna be thinner. |

Re: High end Historics $$ R0 & R9 $$
R9 for me, the 60's neck profile is just too thin.

Re: High end Historics $$ R0 & R9 $$
Thanks, man.
Honestly, it's the best LP I've ever played. The fantastic wear on the neck/body by RS, combined with their electronics and Will's 6707 Greens just combines wonderfully.BB
