Re: hi

Welcome to MLP zakk
I would think that a flat top LP is just what you said, like a Junior, or Special without the carved cap. I was going to try a Junior for my first one... obviously easier but BCRGreg bullied me into doing the carved top. It's a lot of work if you're using hand tools but worth the effort.
Good luck with your build, and keep us posted.

Re: hi

welcome indeed.
Punctuation would help us understand what you write! :-)

Good luck with the building of the guitar!

Re: hi

Nobody who starts building a guitar knows all that is necessary to finish it. That is part of the fun. You;ll learn along the way. Having said that, a screw on neck would probably be easier, but it wouldn't really be a Les Paul then.

For measurements it is best to buy a plan. Stewmac has a good Les Paul plan that tells you all you need to know about dimensions. I assume you have an electric guitar at home. That will be helpful for many insight also.Where did you look and didn't find anything? Didn't quite understand what you meant there. Again, punctuation would help. :-)

You need a fair amount of tools to build a guitar also. If you are a complete beginner it may be worthwhile starting with a kit (Saga or something like that) or buy loose strat parts from axesrus or so and put that together to get a flavour of the process.

all the best,

Vincent
