pickup delma... mix/match covers on/off gibson / manlius

i have a situation that im contemplating.... right now im running a set of manlius fat dianes in my classic, i originaly had a set of 57 classics in... i also have the pg mod done as well... i kind of liked some characteristics of the tone of the 57 classics i had in there before more that i thought i did... they have gold covers... i dont know if id like the zebra up top and a gold cover down low, so i was thinking of removing the gold cover and having zebra top black low and still have the PG mod.... or i could do a lot of other mix match combos that i haven't thought of yet that ive sure i will... either way i have a set of fat dianes and a set of gibson 57 classics... one set zebra, other set gold cover, and black (im amusing) underneath.... anywho, i know its a lot of you folks who have mixed and matched and toyed with different pickup specs, pup combos ect... if any of you have thoughts or ideas about it please do share id love to hear some thoughts.

hmmmm so i see no one replied to your post yet.... out of the 23 people that looked at it, absolutely none of them had any opinion what so ever.... interesting. lets hope maybe the next 23 people that read your first post have even the smallest opinion, and even care to put it into text in the format of a reply to the question?

I hate to say it, I am not following you....are you talking about the tone or the looks? taking off the cover will change the tone a bit.....if looks are the issue...I would think that I would have both without a cover or both with a cover..but, all my HB have covers and have since 1989....so?

if tone is the issue...who cares what the axe looks like?
