Replica Porn!!

I just wanted to show off my '59 replica. It has a vintage RS wiring kit and Sheptone pickups. It has a slight aging job done on it and sounds fantastic!
I built it last February and it is most certainly not for sale. I just wanted to share some photos because I love to see pictures of great looking Les Paul's myself.
I'm considering putting a cover on the neck pickup, so opinions on that would be helpful!

Dude your skills are amazing... That's gorgeous! Is that the one in your avatar? It looks different. Did you build more then one? One more question... What strap is that? I dig the vintage one's for bursts. I'm looking into getting one.

Thanks guys. The strap is by levy's, but I can't seem to find it on their web site.
The guitar is the same one that's in my avatar. After some time I decided to refinish it to more of the honey burst. I like the looks a lot more now.

Why are you using reflectors if it is a '59 replica?

The build thread was very fun to follow along with. I think it would look excellent with the neck pickup being covered.

I used reflector knobs because I like them, no other reasons. I put on the aged nickel cover on the neck pickup, which I think looks cool.

alk-3, could you please tell us how you did the les paul model silkscreen on the headstock? I want to refinish my Gibson headstock, but I want to know how to apply a silkscreened logo, and what paint to use.

Are you going to be photographing the next Les Paul you build? I'd love to watch the process again, because I enjoyed your original build so much. Is it going to be another Burst replica?

I used this brand of ink, in gold and used this emulsion type silk screen to make the template. It's not hard to do, but it was expensive (about $100 all told) having to buy all the supplies.
For the process you can read about silk screening by just googling it, but the only thing to keep in mind is after applying the ink, let it dry for several days before you touch it.

I'm still undecided about what to do. This was a birthday gift to myself last year. This year I might build a gold top, with p-90's or maybe a junior. lately I've been considering building an amp this year instead, but I'm still up in the air.
