Penco Les Pauls?

Just got it from a firend, plays decent but the pickups in it werent too good, so i slapped a 490t i had layin around and it sounds alot better.

But i cant really find any solid information on Penco guitars. I remember talking to a local guitar store about them a while ago, if i remember right arent they apart of the lawsuit guitars made in japan in 1973-1974?

If you know anything else about them let me know, I'm real curious.

They were made during the 70s.From what little I can come up with,they were made by the same company or factory that made the Ibanez lawsuit guitars.

I had one that I got in 76. I remember it being a beautiful guitar appearance wise. I was young, in middle school, and not really qualified at the time to comment on its tone or playability. I ran that thing through an Ampeg B25B Bass amp with two 15's. Not eactly the greatest rig. Traded it in on a US Strat Elite in 82.

Nonetheless I am looking for one right now to add back into my quiver. For no other reason than nostalgia. From what I have been able to gather on these guitars they were imported by a company in Philadelphia (thus the name) and made in the Ibanez factory.
