Custom 12 string Bolt On

Howdy friends and Neighbors!

I have worn myself out reading all the good stuff in these forums! Whew! Love it!

I just finished rewiring the '75 Gibson S-1 that I own, and after set-up, I love playing it through my Killer Ant.

I am dealing with something else entirely now, and I need advice.

What I have are the parts to assemble a 12 string Les Paul together.

The neck is a vintage 70's Epiphone MIJ 12 string neck from an Ft-160. Bolt on.

The bridge is a Gotoh 12 string bridge - a Fender kinda style of design.

The body is a blank Les Paul one-piece mahogany cut that is 1 3/4" thick. Flat - not an arch top. This is just right for the bridge to be used.

The only problem for me is cutting the neck "pocket". I do not have a wood shop, but I do have some good basic hand tools. I am not sure how to go about doing this without screwing it up royally.

If this has been enough information for ya, then I welcome any and all advice.

I fitted this neck and bridge onto a cheap chinese unknown wood body, and it works, but it never satisfied me. I came across this body blank on Ebay, placed the only bid and won it, which is fine. I think it is just the thing to use for this 12 string.
