Re: SRV ts-9 or ts-808?

I thought he used a ts-9 but, I am far from sure.....it sounds like one to me....
(if you go to buy one, check out the mods and boutique pedals....you'll get close enough to that tone for gig work and home happyness...

but so much of tone comes down to how you play...to work on that really pay attention to you picking and fretting.....what is in your heart will lead you to your own tone...and when you have that you can really start to nail it and then experement with different approaches....IMHO)

Stevie used a Ts-808 for most of his career, and then used the Ts-9 later.

He also used the TS-10 toward the end of his career (1988-1990).
