Relics/aging...whatever
Just curious, I haven't seen an artificially aged SG or ES-335. If I have, I haven't noticed it.
Is this more of a Les Paul/Strat trend? |

Re: Relics/aging...whatever
Someone aged my historic SG color wise anyway. The hardware looks old and crusty, and the finished turned brown all over. And it's perfect everywhere with the original red visible under any covered part, even the bars for the trem. I contacted Gibson and they said it left the factory with aged hardware, but had the regular cherry gloss finish. It couldn't have sat in a window as it even coloration all over every part. It looks quite stunning actually and it has at first glance fooled some knowledgeable people who thought it was real (until closer inspection).

I knew your finish was quite faded, but I didn't know the hardware was so well-done. Very nice.
Did you ever end up trying to fade the finish where the Maestro used to sit? I thought you mentioned that you might do it, but I may be mistaken. |

Re: Relics/aging...whatever
No I never did. I was thinking of returning it to the trem, I have to check, but I think the bridge holes I drilled would pretty much be covered by it and thus it can easily be switched back and forth.
