Snakewood - anybody have experience with this?

I was ordering a bunch of random replacement parts and noticed some acoustic snakewood bridge saddles were available. Well, why the hell not?

Now I'm not sure what to do with them. I only ordered one set - I'm not about to experiment with a customer's guitar - and now I'm tempted to try them in my Martin acoustic. It currently has ebony saddles with a rosewood bridge. What, if any, change in tonality can I expect? I work mostly with electrics so I'm curious...that and I just changed the strings so I don't want to waste another set if I can avoid it!

I've made pens out of snakewood and the wood loves to split. Very expensive and often the wood was useless. It looked icredible though.

I made an amazing knife handle out of a piece of snakewood years ago. Stunning wood.

Snake wood from what I remember is a wood thats harder to work with. If I remember from a article I read a bit ago ( Ill see if I can dig it up ) People use it for fingerboards, But have very little success. I think It cracks up pretty quick.
