The Moog Guitar

I just found out about this in an ad from Sweetwater music. I have been checking out some video demos of it and its pretty cool. I will post some vids. Feel free to post your thoughts on this, but please watch one of the demos first.

Re: The Moog Guitar

No offense, but it sounds like a cross between a banjo and a theramin to me. What's wrong with a guitar sounding like a guitar?

Re: The Moog Guitar

There's nothing wrong with a guitar sounding like a guitar. This guitar can do that as well. However alot of the demos are concentrating on the things that can be done on this that cannot be done on a conventional guitar. This offers many options that have not been available before. I would prefer this to something like a Roland guitar synth. Plus it appears to be well crafted. I was impressed by the Premier guitar vid and also by Phil's vid.
This is definately no replacement for a good Les Paul. But I bet Les Paul himself would probably like it. Kind of like a modern Les Paul Recording Model. I could see where jazz fusion and insrumental guitarists would like this.

Re: The Moog Guitar

Here's another vid, but the sound quality is not that good. This one shows it using a more conventional metal tone.

Re: The Moog Guitar

It sounds really cool. It is a more organic "guitar synth" instrument. For me( a hack), I enjoy the farty, splatty super fuzz provided by an electro harmonix micro synth.
Definitely dirty.
