Talking Joe Checking in.
Hi. I've been away from playing for about 12 years and I am getting back in. I am currently in the process of having my guitars setup properly (see list in my sig). I have been playing since I was 6 (now 43), and still not very good. I just enjoy playing either through my Tascam MP-GT1 or Rockman Soloist (keeps the wife happy). I look forward to reading and learning what other LP players have to say and know.

Any help on my questions in the Other Les Pauls forum would be appreciated.

your story sounds familar. I put the guitar away for about 10 years. Would have been 20 but I got out on good behavior ; )

No seriously life got in the way of my social schedule and I did put the guitar up for a decade. My Nephew was visiting from out of state and pulled out one of my guitars that was lurking in the living room closet and he cleaned it, put on some new strings and said I gotta start playing again haha.

I got him hooked on guitar years ago and he after many years returned the favor.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Its funny, I started my 3 cousins playing. All own at least one Les Paul (Epi or Gibson) and all play better than I do.

The reason why I stopped playing is different than most, 12 years ago we decided to get a beagle. For some unknown reason, just opening the case scared him beyond belief. Playing would have him shaking for hours afterward. So into the closet they went. Sadly, the little guy passed away in July. A month later, I started playing again. I forgot what calloused fingertip felt like.
