Anybody looking for a GT Conversion - For Sale in Calgary

1953 GIBSON LES PAUL GOLDTOP BODY CONVERSION PROJECT

I don't have the cash right now, but I wouldn't mind picking it up for the old wood. Figured I'd post this up incase anybody else is looking.

Re: Anybody looking for a GT Conversion - For Sale in Calgary

I'd be willing to go take a look for someone if they're interested, and get some better pictures. A quick email to the guy could net some better photos. Just figured I'd toss it out there since I can't afford it, and it's on my local craigslist as of today.

I got everything but backplates and maybe a wraptail.Newer plates won't fit right.Could end up a '53/'60 convert.

Email the guy and see what he says. If you want a pair of eyes to go see it in person, let me know... Or if you come to Calgary to check it out and need a place to crash I'm good for it.

Re: Anybody looking for a GT Conversion - For Sale in Calgary

Run, Forrest, Run!!

these pix were lifted off an Ebay auction.

Even though I knew they were stolen photos, I did email the guy for fun (if you rollback on Craigslist, it was for sale a week or so ago at $3100), the story goes:
-he's in England for 7 months
- he sent it to a Money Booker warehouse in Vancouver
- you can't look at it there, you send him a 30% deposit, they ship you the guitar, you have 14 days to pay for it or return it, something like that.
lol

Well the offer of room and board still stands for next time you're in Calgary. My drummer works at the finest butcher shop in the city and I know I can wrangle up some Buffalo Steaks no problem! I also have great friends at the WildRose Brewery so premiere beer and steaks are on me.

Re: Anybody looking for a GT Conversion - For Sale in Calgary

Too bad its a scam. I would have sold off some stuff if Mike didn't get it! I'd love to find a gutted piece of old wood for a long term project...

Re: Anybody looking for a GT Conversion - For Sale in Calgary

the real one sold on Ebay a month or so ago for about $6K. It was in Florida.

it wouldn't be a bad time to build a fund for old wood. I've been contemplating the same thing. Problem is, I don't want to sell anything.

I don't really want to sell anything either - but if it were legit and in the $2k's I would be able to pull something together. Not at $6k - I wouldn't part w/ either of my Gibby's, even for old(er) wood...

It probably is a good time to buy - you're right there.

Well, if you look at the "G" the tail is no where near the D tuner, as with the bellow photo...
