Greetings

Hey everybody. My name is Richard and as well as being new to the forum, I am also a new Les Paul owner!
I've been looking at getting a Les Paul for as long as I can remember, but last Saturday the wife said " you've wanted one of those for so long, why don't you just get it?" was my reaction as I moved faster than I ever had in my life to the guitar store. Now, I have always wanted a Les Paul, and I was pretty familiar with the models, but not so much the 2008 line. So here I was in front of about 12 different Les Paul models. Classics, Standards, Traditionals, Robots, etc. The VOS and custom stuff was out of my price range, so that was an instant no. My eyes kept focusing in on this traditional. There was a problem though. What's a traditional? This was going to be a big buy for me, so I had to be sure. In my mind I wanted a standard, but after speaking with sales associate he explained that these were the new chambered Les Pauls. He took one down for me to try, and though It felt good.....it wasn't THE one. All this time my eyes kept glancing at the traditional on the wall. I finally swallowed my pride and just asked. What's a Traditional? The guy told me it was pretty much like the previous standards only with '57 humbuckers. He handed it to me. HEAVY......nice....like that!!! The neck.....beautiful baseball batish. I plugged it in, played my I'm worthy of owning a Les Paul riff, SOLD!!!!
I'm still on cloud nine. I don't think there's anything special about it compared to other Les Pauls except for two important things. It spoke to me and it's mine. So now I join your ranks, as I slowly become infected with the GAS syndrome. By the way I'm from South Florida Hollywood to be exact.
