Re: SG '61 Reissue
Get an Historic with the maestro trem and it will add some heft to the body.

Re: SG '61 Reissue
My SG Standard must be considered a tank then at 8 lbs 2 oz.
![]() I haven't weighed it yet, but my Custom Shop SG has got to be under 7 lbs. |

Re: SG '61 Reissue
I owned a 1991 '61 reissue, I don't know the exact weight but I can say that it was light.
If you like a heavy guitar, this may not be the way to go. The neck is super slim too. I really liked it, it played and sounded great, but it sure wasn't chunky or heavy! Jimbo

Re: SG '61 Reissue
An SG is not really a heavy guitar to begin with. My 61 historic is prolly in the 7lb range.
