Thinking about making my own Strat..

So I've been thinking about making my own strat guitar.
Here are the parts I would be using:

Flametop Cherry Burst body:

Maple neck:

And thinking about this EMG DG20pickup setup:

It's a project I think I would enjoy doing, being able to put together a guitar myself. Any tidbits or recommendation for hardware would be great!

Re: Thinking about making my own Strat..

I built a hardtail Strat from Warmoth and Fender parts, with Van Zandt pickups, about 10 years ago.
I love that thing.

Yeah it definitely is. I just copied and pasted from the Stewart Mac site which had it listed as flamed. Oh well. I like quilt tops.

Re: Thinking about making my own Strat..

As far as making the custom logo, I do mine in photoshop with headstock templates. here's one I did for my tele before I realized that the headstock I was gonna have was the big paddle style headstock.

Anyway, when I get them how I want them, I'll just take the png down to my local vinyl cutter and have him cut me some.

Re: Thinking about making my own Strat..

Yeah I could use photoshop, that's a good idea. I think I'd want to put my initials in a Fender style script
