Re: Guitar Magazines
Guitar World definitely caters to the metal crowd. I subscribe to both Guitar Player and Guitar World.

Re: Guitar Magazines
+1
GuitarOne was the best mag around.....got me back into playing when it first came out...still have that issue...somewhere! I played guitar in my teens and thru my early 20's..in and out of bands..then I just put the guitar down and let everyday life take hold! It wasnt until GuitarOne came out and inspired me to start playing again! Now I'm in my 40's and playing in a rock band again....and damn proud of it! |

Re: Guitar Magazines
I subscribe to both Guitar Player and Guitar World, but for educational content, I prefer Guitar Techniques and Total Guitar from the UK. They are pricey here in the U.S. because they are "imported". I've considered getting a subscription to one or the other (GT or TG), but so far, I just check into my local bookstore about once a month and pick up the issues that interest me.

Re: Guitar Magazines
If you want lessons then the best magazine for that is Guitar Techniques.
Guitar Techniques Right now for me it's Guitar World and Total Guitar.

Re: Guitar Magazines
Guitar World is my favorite. My subscription includes a CD with each issue. You can see videos on your computer that cover the written lessons in the magazine and you can see the latest gear in action and reviewed. I'm a metal player and Guitar World caters to metal players, but the lessons and techniques can be used in any style.

Re: Guitar Magazines
And will cost you about $2500/yr. LOL. But it is quite pricey, but worth it. They have the best transcriptions and lessons.
