I just picked this one up on Sunday.

'03 Mexican Strat, re-wired, with Duncan Scorcher Rails.

I've never seen a Strat in that matte purple before, but it looks like a factory paint job.

Plays great, sounds hotter than stock. Happy me.

Thanks.

I have two other Strats (and a parts Strat that I don't really count), both rosewood. I have a heavily-modded Squier Butterscotch Blonde Tele and a '51 Modified, both with maple, and they gave me the bug to get a maple Strat.

When I got it, I played it and thought it had .009s on it. I re-strung it with a set of .010s, and it played exactly the same. Nice and slinky.

Gotta like that. I have one Strat nowadays, and I keep 11s on it.

Makes my Gibbies feel like warm budda.

Re: I just picked this one up on Sunday.

Thx, Stryker.

When i got it, it had matching tortoise shell pickguard and trem cavity cover. The pickguard didn't look great with such a dark guitar, so I got a replacement white one.

I think the black pups and knobs look cool against the white. I get to rehearse with it tomorrow night, and i want to hear how it sounds when i really open it up. I tried it through my studio setup (kidney bean POD through monitors), but I want to hear it through real tubes at real volume.

That looks like a lot of fun.
I've recently taken to using rails on the bridge of both my Strats.

First time I've ever tried them. I have a couple of old DiMarzio stacks on one of my other Strats, but these are different.

They should sound pretty cool through my Crate. My other guitars are going to get a run for their money with this one, for sure.

I just did a quick Google image search - that looks like the color, all right.

Thanks for pointing it out. I was mystified as to what the color actually was.

That is in fact a factory color! They had one in one of my local shops awhile ago. Looked fantastic!
