Suggest any Kiss songs to learn??

All the kiss tracks I've found tabs for online so far are all tuned down which I can't really be arsed to do at this stage.

Are there any easy Kiss songs that they didn't tune down??

Not that I know of

Every Kiss song I know how to play is a half step down

Re: Suggest any Kiss songs to learn??

Alot of the newer stuff...post make up is standard. The early stuff is a half step down..they kinda go back & forth after that.

Anyhoo...rock on!

Re: Suggest any Kiss songs to learn??

is tuning the guitar up and down all the time ok for the guitar?? Presumably it doesn't affect anything hardware wise??

I'd want to say tune down to play one song, tune to standard for the next and so on...

Re: Suggest any Kiss songs to learn??

Tune as you will brother...with no worries. I range from a full step flat to standard all the time. You'll have no problems at all.

Kiss songs are great. Lots of catchy rythms & some tasty leads. Ace licks will definately help with bends & your vibrato. Good stuff.

Re: Suggest any Kiss songs to learn??

Tune it down and rock it out, my friend.

I learned to play on KISS music. Some good ones: Black Diamond, Cold Gin, Dr. Love, Detroit Rock City.

Re: Suggest any Kiss songs to learn??

Lick it Up, Animalize, Asylum, Crazy Nights, Hot In The Shade, Revenge, Alive III, Unplugged and Carnival of Souls are the 83-95 post makeup albums.

Get the album Alive! from 1975 learn all of it, great stuff was the first real record (yes vinyl LP) that I got as a kid in the 70's also had it on 8 track.

It doesn't really matter if they tune down or not. You just not tune down.

True...But if your trying to play with the actual recording...

If I had to suggest KISS songs to learn they would be off the early albums. Just some good stuff on those. Ace licks can really help you in so many different areas of your playing. She, Watchin' You, Black Diamond...a few of my favorites.

Anyhoo...Have fun with em'.

Re: Suggest any Kiss songs to learn??

We do "Detroit Rock City" in standard tuning, great song. I have a way to raise the pitch of the song 1/2 step.

You want the mp3?

Re: Suggest any Kiss songs to learn??

Get the album Dressed To Kill, flat out rocking guitars.
"Love Her All I Can" has a smoking solo, "Getaway" has one of the few recorded solos where Ace uses any effects (a wah on that one).

You can tune down to learn all them but for playing with others tune to whatever your singer sounds best in.

Re: Suggest any Kiss songs to learn??

I like early Kiss because much of it is in the spirit of early rock and roll. Let me go rock and roll, Nothin to lose,Rock and roll all night,Getaway,Ladies in Waiting,Ladies room, and the Covers Kissin Time and Then She Kissed Me are all good examples.

Re: Suggest any Kiss songs to learn??

Get the first 3 albums and learn that classic stuff. Best stuff to learn and fairly easy except for some of Ace's unorthodox work, but awesome.
Tune down and leave it tuned down.

Re: Suggest any Kiss songs to learn??

Let Me Go, Rock N Roll- the live version from Alive (1975) absolutely kicks ass, as well as 100,000 Years.

I played in a couple of tribute bands over the years and the earlier songs are the most fun to play live, just the energy that comes off them.

Later stuff- 1976-77

Calling Dr. Love
King of The Nighttime World
I Stole Your Love
I Want You

Tons of great songs.

Again, great post.

Any of these songs has great basic techniques every guitar player should know...string bending, vibrato, blues box runs, and great rhythm playing with syncopated lines.

Ace may not be the greatest player ever, but he had some great technique that fit that music.

Ace is so tastey on the old stuff..his solo in Dr. Love is GREAT..his solo in making Love Kicks!! He may not have been the fastest, but that boy has soul in his playing...great player...
