Best type of metronome??
I've seen a Korg one that has headphone output but couldn't see where the guitar input was. I'd primarily want to use it with headphones but so I can also hear my guitar at the same time.
Any suggestions?? |

Re: Best type of metronome??
I've never seen a metronome with a guitar input, I'd imagine all metronomes are good for the job since they all make the little beep beep beep sound, but I guess they have fancy ones.
I've had the same little Korg one forever and I've never had a problem with it. |

Re: Best type of metronome??
I sort of agree with Arcanis... Mine was free off the internet, but I would use that one. I'd use one with a computer chip built in like I assume Arcanis's does. I love the training mode, where it start slow, and gets faster. Mine also has "triplets" as a feature. You can google "Metronome" and find some cool shareware programs.
I can not stress enough how the metronome has improve my playing.

Re: Best type of metronome??
May I be so arrogant as to say that everyone needs a metronome?
If you will allow me to be so arrogant, then I'll say it. If not, that I take it back. ![]()

Re: Best type of metronome??
Get whatever one you like, but I have to add; get one that clicks, not one that beeps.
The beep gets really annoying, especially since it's a particular pitch, and it's probably not in the key you're practicing in.

Re: Best type of metronome??
+1 for the Korg metronome.
I also have a Korg CA-30 tuner. Wish I had known about the TM-40 so I have one less unit. May sound old fashioned but I sometimes also prefer using our old style wooden metronome my daughter uses while playing piano. The clicking is easier on the ears than the electronic ticking.

Re: Best type of metronome??
I Have a marantz that clicks and beeps. What's kool about it is It will beep on different beats so you can play with meters or if you are working on something complicated it will keep you honest about whether you are landing on the beat you thing you are landing on (are you really hitting the down beat or are you going to wait for a drummer to correct you at the gig)
It a lot of fun and infuriating. You will be better from having it....like marriage, I guess. |
