Any Jazzmaster fans in the house!?

I have to say, this is one of my favorite guitars in the world.

I would love to have one, but sadly, my financial situation stops me from getting one worth having lol! The shape of the guitar, tone, look, everything is just so perfect to me. Not to mention that, but I rarely see people playing these anymore... Why?

Post'em up if you got'em! Who doesn't LOVE a nice Jazzmaster though?

Re: Any Jazzmaster fans in the house!?

Love them do not or never had one but, have had the pleasure of playing a few in the past. A friend had a strat with a JM neck on it nice. One of the guitar players in the Funk Brothers plays a Tele with a JM neck. I know JM necks on other fenders doesn't not make a JM but they do add a touch of class to a strat or tele.
A friend is finishing a Warmoth JM body , you could save up and do a build!

I love them and I own a J Mascis signature model. The picture is a bit rubbish as I used my old mobile to take it earlier this year.

I tried one of them. Very cool guitar! I'm sad that it belonged to someone else...

Re: Any Jazzmaster fans in the house!?

I'm on the look out for a regular Jazzmaster at the moment either a CIJ or an AVRI in Sunburst with a tort plate. Just like the ones above in my pics.

Not really into getting a real vintage one as they tend to be a bit erratic in quality terms and both the US and Japanese models are pretty good these days. Just have to sell some of my keyboards to finance it.

Bought two new guitars this week already and a third would be insanity!

Re: Any Jazzmaster fans in the house!?

My first brand name electric was a early 60's Seafoam Green Jazzmaster w/matching headstock. I sold it a few years back. Always regreted it. So last year I bought one of the Thin Skin reissue Jazzmasters. Again in Seafoam
green w/matching headstock. My old one and this one are great guitars.

Love the matching headstock JMs. They just look classy and very 60's to me. Nice guitar I'm envious in a good way!

Re: Any Jazzmaster fans in the house!?

When I was 11 years old, I had saved up enough money for my first electric guitar and though I really wanted a Strat, found a 63 Jazzmaster for 1/10 of the cost of a second hand Strat and the same money as a Hondo Strat copy.
They are quirky alright, but it's still one of my favorite guitars!

I'm way late to this party but the Jazzmaster is a great guitar.

And J is very awesome! I want one of those adjusto matic bridges for my jazzmaster.

Re: Any Jazzmaster fans in the house!?

Jazzmasters DO rock, and I was just reading this ooold thread the other day!

I'd always wanted a Jazzmaster or Jag - and scored a '65 Jaguar on Ebay that should be here on Tuesday!

Pix will follow.

Man, I think when the time comes and I get something with single-coils again...

Jazzmaster might be the road I go down.

The rock n' roll scene needs a Jazzmaster revival.

Re: Any Jazzmaster fans in the house!?

I was thinking long and hard about that one, Greg. I've always wanted a sunburst Jag/Jazzmaster and was able to score a '65 Jag w/ original finish for $1500.

Overdriver - that looks like an ice one as well and a decent price. I'm not a fan of the color, though!

Yuck. Must be a Danelectro - odds are that if I want to poke my eyes out after seeing a guitar, its a Dano.

Yeah I've been spying that jazzmaster too. Someone is getting a sweet old guitar.

Anyone know if that new bridge is available separately?

Close! It's actually a "Dan Electro" by Subway Guitars. I think they acquired a bunch of unused Danelectro parts awhile back and started slapping them together.

That is funny! Pretty original there, putting a space in the name!

Re: Any Jazzmaster fans in the house!?

I'm thinking about building a flaming lips jazzer. sunburst, white pickguard, hot rails in the bridge. I'll add the adjusto-matic (if i can find one).
The neck PU is simply incredible and the hotrail gives that white noise, smilin death porn sound. I just won't do that to my original jazzers.

And if that barney colored freak axe is new and still available, that is a good price for a great guitar!
