MIJ mini Strat

18 1/2" scale, MIJ Strat. Instead of using heavy strings and tuned normally, it has light strings and tuned up almost like an octave guitar. It's lots of fun!

Re: MIJ mini Strat

I wanted one of those Fender MIJ's and settled for a Squire mini. This Squire is great (tuners suck), but I've hauled it pretty much coast to coast and it serves it's purpose as a travel guitar. In fact I was pretty surprised at the tone it puts out, I went with 11's and standard tuning.

Great guitar you have there!

Re: MIJ mini Strat

I wanted one of the Fender minis too, but they got discontinued so I got the Squirer mini for a travel guitar, I put heavier strings on mine. The MIJ Fenders are really cool in that they have the trem.

Re: MIJ mini Strat

I was digging thru some stuff and found a set of Lace Sensors, I might drop those in this thing, since the stock pickups are kind of mediocre. I fiddled around with the nut and string tree, and got the trem working pretty good today.

Re: MIJ mini Strat

The Japanese ones I have seen are made of multi ply & have no back contours if you need a Fender gig bag for one I have one I can sell cheap or trade

look for the mex built Fender Strat jr 22.7 scale & real alder & skunk stripped back of neck

Re: MIJ mini Strat

This one has a solid wood body and back contours. I have a gig bag for it.

Re: MIJ mini Strat

I had been looking for one for a long time on the internet for a decent price, and ironically this one popped up for sale at a local music store very reasonably.
