I'm thinking of updating the pots in my 2000 Gibson Les Paul 1960 Classic and in my 1997 Strat Plus Deluxe.

I'm unclear about whether there are different types of pots to be used for the volume control and a different type to be used for the tone control. RS Guitarworks' site talks about a "super pot" (which apparently is made specially for them by CTS) for volume and a (regular?) audio pot for tone.

What if I am installing regular "non-super" pots for all controls? Then do I have to worry about volume vs. tone pots? Or is the same standard "audio pot" used for both tone and volume? Thanks.
