Don't worry, it takes some time to get the hang of it, especially if you don't have someone to show you how it's done.
For future reference, use one of
these. You can easily make one for yourself out of cardboard or something. With such a template you can do most of the soldering outside of your guitar. When your done, pop the harness in, solder the pickups, switch and jack and your good to go.
