Agreed. IMO it all depends on what you're after. Classic Strat vibe? =No humbucker. More modern rock vibe? =Slap in the humbucker.
And putting a humbucker in a Strat does not make it sound like an LP. IMO they are two different types of tone derived from different scale lengths and construction.
Both are good. Just different.
