Marshall Haze 40
I just got my Marshall Haze 40 today at a bargain.
It's a nice sounding amp for anything from warm ballads to dirty and bearded distortion. ACDC, ZZ top, Lynyrd Skynyrd etc.
Since this amp is no heavy metal amp, I'm keeping my old Line 6 spider and just switch between them if I need to play heavier stuff.
I'm new to tube amps. Is there any way to tweak a tube amp to give it more bite and distortion? To take it more in the heavy metal direction.
Yeah, I know what you're all thinking. "Why didn't he just buy a tube amp designed for heavy metal?"
But the thing is: This amp almost made the hair on my arm stand up when playing solo or blues. And I can drive it harder with the ESP with the after-burner (or buy a booster pedal).
