Make sure your pickups are not TOO close to the strings. I have my pickups set an 1/8" away from the strings (press the last fret and measure from string bottom to top of pickup screw). For a while I had the neck at 1/16" by mistake. The pickup magnets were impacting string vibration. When I moved it down to 1/8", the increase in sustain and pickup bloom was quite noticeable.
