I don't know, these are just a few issues that I have seen float around and I do know that there are a ton more Marshalls out there that probably are reliable. It just seems as if they are using sub-par parts and charging top shelf prices (this is new Marshalls, the "real" old school ones are tanks), makes more sense, to me, to build your own for less and with top shelf parts for decent prices. Just my .02... and back to the OP, keep on cruising and keep the build pics coming!
I have actualy seen the opposite, i have had 6
new marshalls and never had a problem but i used
to blow transformers on my old plexis back in the
day.
But there is one difference, back then i played them
on 9, and i dont play my new amps even at half
that volume. Also back in those days nobody knew about
Mercury Magnetics OT's like they do now, and to tell the truth
about 90% of rock musicians never heard of "Biasing" they would
just buy new tubes and jam them in.

so i think it has alot to do with how much you work
and how loud you play?
Since im no longer a concert musician, i probably wont
have any problems with any amp at the volumes i play.
Thats just my 2 cents

70's and 80's rock musicians were alot less tech smart than
they are now
