Thanks, Yeah I was looking at some Epiphone open coil pickups on eBay for cheap, but wasn't sure if that would be the way to go or not. I would love to get some Seymour Duncan '59s or JB's later on, but for now I wanted to experiment a little bit. I haven't found any good specs on Epiphone pickups yet, but you had mentioned that both the Standards and the Classics had factory installed Alnico V's?
