Upgraded from a Vox ad30vt, very great amp and I got it at a great price too, but the modeling OD only went as far as recording, so I got a real tube amp.

As for those Crates I liked the V32 it was the other one I considered but once the price dropped on the Peavey the choice wasn't all that hard to make.

As for the Pre/Post settings you asked for I find the Pre at about 4 or 5 with my Squier gets a nice blues sound, it's just lightly overdriven but very nice.

Usually if I want more sustain (using the Les Paul) I put the Pre up to about 9 and the post around 4. I don't know if it's true but it seems that when putting the Pre higher than the Post, it compressed and sustained the overdrive more.

The versatility of the amp is amazing though, can't wait to get a good pedal for this.
