I've never owned/heard one, but from what I've seen the GFS production methods and materials appear to be very similar (if not the same as) Epiphone. So I'm not sure it would be an "upgrade" or an improvement.

If you want inexpensive pickups, I'd look for used Duncans, DiMarzios or something to that effect.
