Les Pauls have notorious nut problems - shallow, binding slots. Easily solved in the long run with a pro nut filing job, replacing the nut; or in the short run with lubricating the nut.............................hell, lube the nut after a pro file job.
I use Big Bends Nut Sauce to lube the nut. It works great. Some guys use pencil lead.
The Les Paul's tuners are solid and not your problem. I would look to the nut for that.

I second the Big Bends Nut Sauce. My 08 Standard Faded had that tink on the G, pencil lead didn't do the trick, but the Nut Sauce fixed it right up. I used it on both the Nut as well as the bridge saddles, and the guitar stays in tune even with huge bends.
Give it a try, you will be pleasantly surprised!
