From what I understand, the very first Antiquities were handwound but demand was so great that they are now just aged versions of standard pickups.
They are expensive but handwound pickups are labour intensive as is the ageing process. Sometimes you just have to accept that if you want the tone and the look you'll just have to pay someone a fair price for their efforts.
