Complete noob and first post here, I found this this to be a great community and hopefully I can be part of the community soon, but I have some questions about buying an elitist.
I learned to play on acoustics and now I am moving into electrics so I want to pick up a new guitar. After much research I decided that I want an Elitist since I am a student and I don't have the funds to splurge on a full blown Gibson, but want something decent to last me a long time.
Which brings me to my question, how much should I pay for one? I found a local seller selling his/her Wine Red Elitist Custom w/ gold hardware. The condition is said to be mint as the seller is mainly an acoustic player, everything is said to be original and here are some pics(was told these are reflections not scratches):

I will hopefully meet the seller on Friday to check out the guitar and discuss prices. I am on a pretty tight budget as a student and would like to have a valuable inputs from experienced owners
P.S Although I would love to keep this Epi for many many years to come, but I might have to sell it if financial situations get too tough or I have trouble paying off my student loans after university, so I am a bit concerned about the Wine Red body, as I was told many times that the color is harder to sell compared to more 'traditional' LP colors
, so resale value unfortunately is somewhat of a concern to me here
